Arelys Fernández Carmenate and Daysi Díaz Ávila, founders of the Popular Camping

Arelys Fernández Carmenate and Daysi Díaz Ávila are two of the founders of the Popular Camping in Las Tunas, who continue working at the Company.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Arelys and Daysi started together and have worked nearby all their lives. Thus, they have become like sisters over time, the shared joys and sorrows.

Talking with them is also getting closer to the details of the birth of Popular Camp in these parts. One was 21 years old and the other, barely 18, when the days were going away in the tiny office behind El Nuevo León snack-bar, taking the first steps of work.

Arelys holds the Jesús Menéndez and Lázaro Peña medals, in Third Grade, and together with Daysi, began as an Accounting Assistant. Although each of them was finding their own path of improvement, work brings them together and life has given them many joys.

They boast that each plant that now bears fruit at the headquarters of the Provincial Directorate of Camping in Las Tunas has the sweat of their hands. Because they planted them, cleaned the place, and did many, many extra hours of labor change, helping the builders with the rest of the workers so that the works were as good as possible.

Listening to them is also thanking those who, like them, saw the birth of these healthy recreational facilities that are campsites. In 2021, they celebrate 40 years with the motto "Naturally together," and the history of these women is that of many other workers of that entity.
