Many expression of solidarity after explosion at Saratoga HotelGovernments, parliamentary, and friendship groups today sent messages of solidarity to the Cuban people after the explosion registered today at a hotel in Havana.

Havana, Cuba.- Through his Twitter account, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro expressed his solidarity with the Cuban people and President Díaz-Canel and extended an embrace to the families of the victims.

The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, expressed his concern, condolences, and solidarity on Twitter.

U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price said the current U.S. administration sent its condolences to all those affected by the tragic explosion.

A Twitter feed from the Communist Party of Cuba noted that participants in the Americas and Caribbean Regional Meeting of the World Peace Council sent a message of condolences.

Condolences were also sent from Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Syria, Dominican Republic, and Perú, among many other countries.

Mexico's Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrad, expressed the solidarity of his government and compatriots with the victims of the explosion.

In a message on Twitter, Ebrard regretted the event and confirmed that President Andres Manuel López Obrador’s visit to Cuba scheduled for this Sunday, May 8, will be maintained.

I regret the explosion at the Saratoga Hotel in Havana, Cuba. Our solidarity to the victims and those affected, as well as to that dear brotherly people. The planned tour continues as planned, the foreign minister said on the social network.

The Yamilet López Bolivarian Circle (Cbylo) of Costa Rica today expressed its solidarity with Cuba, as well.

Just a few minutes ago we learned of the tragedy in that hotel in Havana, Cbylo’s message of solidarity points out and highlights that whatever the origin of the incident, “we stand in full solidarity with the Cuban people, the revolutionary government, workers of the hotel, their families and the City of Havana”.
