Havana, Cuba.- As it was revealed in a press conference by the Director of Geology of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Enrique Castellanos, Resolution 345, among other aspects, declares geological information generated as main item for the increase of knowledge in that field.
The official also referred to the complementary norms of the resolution defining the main elements of the generation, spreading, Access, use and preservation of geological information, as well as other questions regarding organization and operation of the National Council of Geology.
The conformation of this organ, referred Castellanos, will allow optimization as to use of resources, the buying of inputs will be better planned and directives will be established to benefit all the economic branches where geology participates.
Besides other benefits, the legal norm details the relations with the Institute of Physical Planning regarding geological information required for territorial planning and for the investment processes.
According to what was said by the official, the policy becoming effective as of today, has great relevance in the increasing participation of geological projects in social and economic development plans of the country.
In parallel to the study and evaluation of mineral resources, Cuban geologists are immerse in the yields of the construction, agricultural spheres, revealed the official.
In the construction branch, for example, contribute to the localization of mini-industries for the local program of building materials production, by establishing the existence of sand, stone and clay in the national territory.
Castellanos equally detailed on the updating of the norm establishing that the entities exploiting mineral resources pay to the State Budget a fee of reimbursement for the geological research work carried out.
Also, he elaborated, the approval of the policy will contribute to finishing the 26 tasks of search and evaluation of the mineral resources projected for next year, of which 14 will start contributing on that same date.
Thus, he sustained, the State will receive a varied assortment, including gold, limestone, marble and magnesite. (PL)
