The International Committee for Peace, Justice and Dignity for the Peoples is preparing the 4th Day against the US Blockade on Cuba, scheduled from September 24 to 28 in this capital.

Washington.- This year's events will focus on the impacts of the economic, commercial and financial siege for more than 55 years on Cuba's education sector.

Alicia Jrapko, the coordinator in the United States of the organizing institution, explained to Prensa Latina that from this approach, they will try to reach US groups and institutions linked to education.

The message they bring as part of the upcoming day is that in Cuba, that sector is a national priority, while on US territory, it is under attack.

Education in Cuba is free; it is a human right, while here, in such a rich country, schools close and people have to pay a lot of money to enroll in higher education, said Jrapko.

According to the coordinator, among the scheduled activities is the screening of two documentaries on September 26 at the Landmark E Street Cinema in this capital: "Lucha Sí!," which deals about the struggle for public education in Puerto Rico; and "Maestra," about the Literacy Campaign carried out in Cuba in 1961.
