Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant

The security service employees at Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant have been attacked by the Ukrainian side, Renat Karchaa, adviser to the general director of the Russian nuke agency Rosenergoatom, said on Friday.

Moscow.- The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)’s experts, who were protected by the plant’s security service, were successfully rotated at the nuclear power plant on Thursday, Karchaa said.

After this incident, “the Russian side will present a mandatory note” as “leaving such armed provocations unanswered is categorically impossible,” the official said.

Even the representatives of the Ukrainian side, who took part in the rotation, “did not understand what was going on,” which demonstrates a “complete lack of control,” Karchaa added.

The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe, is located near Energodar town. It comprises six pressurized water reactors of the VVER-1000 model with a total capacity of 6,000 megawatts.

For months, Russia and Ukraine have been accusing each other of shelling the facilities of this plant, located in an area controlled by Russian troops since March 2022. (PL)
