The Ukrainian troops lost 490 men between dead and wounded in the area of the Donetsk People's Republic over the last day, the spokesman of the Russian Defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov, reported today.

Moscow.- Konashenkov added that as a result of the fighting, the enemy also lost a tank, three infantry vehicles, four pickup trucks, nine cars, two Msta-B howitzers, 3 D-30 howitzers, a D-20 gun, and a US-made M777 artillery system.

In the Krasny Liman area, air strikes and artillery fire from the Central troop formation hit enemy units in the localities of Yampolovka in Donetsk, Chervonopopovka, and Kuzmino in Lugansk, the senior military officer said.

In addition, Konashenkov detailed that in that area, the Ukrainian Army lost up to 150 soldiers, two infantry fighting vehicles, five armored combat vehicles, and a Grad multiple missile launcher.

Meanwhile, fighter jets of the Aerospace Forces shot down two Mi-8 helicopters of the Ukrainian Air Force in the areas of Suvorovarovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Pokrovskoye in the Dniepropetrovsk region during the day, the spokesman assured.

On the other hand, Konashenkov said that in the Kherson area, more than 70 Ukrainian servicemen, 20 vehicles, a US-made M777 artillery system, and a D-30 howitzer were destroyed by Russian artillery fire. (PL)
