Romanian Defense Minister Angel Tilvar and his Bulgarian counterpart Todor Tagarev signed today a letter of intent to create a Regional Command of the Special Operations Component.

Bucharest.- The ministers met in the corridors of the NATO summit in Vilnius, the Romanian Defense Ministry reported in a note published on its website.

This decision was taken due to the strategic importance of the Black Sea region and its transformation into a protective border, which is of great importance for the European Union and the war alliance, the text says.

The Romanian minister thanked his Bulgarian counterpart for the constant support for regional security and participation in military projects in the field of multinational exercises, adds the note, spread by the Russian news agency Sputnik. (PL)
