Cuban University Students Debate on National Security

Cuban students are debating on Wednesday on sovereignty and national security in Cuba and Latin America, in the framework of the 25th National Workshop on Military and Internationalist Patriotic Education, taking place for second day in Guantanamo.

 

Guantánamo, Cuba.- The delegates have an exchange on Wednesday with soldiers of the Border Brigade, a military unit founded in 1961 to defend the national territory, in the limits with the illegal U.S. naval base that usurps 117.6 km of land and waters from this eastern Cuban territory.

Participants in this event will later restart the scientific sessions and the work in commissions where they will present diverse works related to the U.S. unconventional war against Cuba and Latin America, the new political scenarios of the region and others political issues.

Other committees will develop specific issues related to the environment and the studies of vulnerability and risk in Cuba.

Issues related to new technologies in terms of the development and improvement of the subject of Preparation for Defense in Cuban universities, Military Patriotic and Internationalist Education and the training of values in higher education, will also be discussed. (PL)
