Havana, Cuba.- Cuban President, in a message on Twitter, said the achievements of the regional organization founded in 2004 will also be preserved.
"The Political Council of ALBA-TCP is being held on Tuesday in Cuba. Faced with the great challenges imposed by the imperialist push to destroy the regional integration, we will defend Venezuela and preserve the conquests reached by ALBA-TCP," he wrote in his account @DiazCanelB.
The meeting will explore new opportunities for integration and will reaffirm the commitment of unity, cooperation and solidarity among the member nations in the current situation, the Cuban Foreign Ministry informed.

Ministers of Foreign Affairs of each member country are attending the gathering, which is aimed at advising the Presidential Council of this integrationist platform on strategic issues and to present recommendations and proposals on international policy issues. Bolivia, Cuba, Dominica, Grenada, Nicaragua, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Venezuela form part of ALBA-TCP, which defends the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace adopted at the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States summit in Havana in January 2014.
