Cuban Council of Ministers Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas on Friday started a visit to Russia, during which he expects to meet with members of the Russian executive.

Moscow.- Cabrisas' stay in this nation includes meetings with Russian Transport Minister Evgueni Ditrij, Agriculture Minister Dmitri Patrushev and Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov.

Russia and Cuba strengthened their economic cooperation and strategic partnership on January 24, after the Cuban vice president met in Moscow with Russian authorities.

Cabrisas carried out a busy working agenda, during which he met with Dmitri Kozak, vice president of the Russian government, with whom he addressed strategic aspects of the bilateral cooperation in many spheres, including energy.

Both nations have been working systematically on strategic issues for the socioeconomic development of Cuba.

All this takes place at a complex international situation for both countries, not only politically but also economically, Cabrisas said, referring to the reinforcement of the U.S. blockade against his country and unilateral Washington sanctions against Moscow.

The Cuban vice president highlighted the development of projects in the energy sector such as the construction of four generator blocs, to which equipment modernization plans in that area are included.

Kozak told Prensa Latina that he had a constructive dialogue with Cabrisas on all cooperation directions on many levels and spheres. We agreed on the steps to follow to deepen that collaboration, he said. (PL)
