Artists and groups of national prestige have confirmed their attendance at the Supreme Festival of the Cuban Farmers. Tomasita Quiala, Emiliano Sardiñas, El Jilguerito de Cienfuegos and the prominent painter Nelson Domínguez are some of them. The multi-awarded Santiaguero Septet will also perform, as part of a national tour for its 25 years of artistic life.

The Plate 190 Aniversario del Cucalambé will be presented to prestigious personalities who have accompanied the development of the day through time and institutions with an outstanding task for the defense of traditions.

Fernando de Ávila Rodríguez, adviser to the president of the National Council of Cultural Centers, said: "We have to promote the Cucalambeana Festival as the epicenter of Cuban peasant culture, support its celebration in each province, without forgetting that true doers are those who are working in the communities to defend our culture. So it is worth noting how in the province of Las Tunas more than 300 Cucalambeanas were made all year long before the main event."

In addition to greeting the birthday of Juan Cristóbal Nápoles Fajardo (El Cucalambé), the "Cucalambeana" is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the enactment of the first Agrarian Reform Law, the 55th of the Egrem record company, 30th of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets and 15th of the José Martí Brigade of Art Instructors.
