New Delhi.- In an interview with Prensa Latina, at the headquarters of the event in Greater Noida, on the outskirts of the city of New Delhi, the Uruguayan expert said she witnessed several parallel events of the COP-14, where many topics were shared among attending delegations, and Cuba showed it has a lot of experience in sustainable land management.

She explained she has worked with Cuba in several countries where Cuban technicians shared their knowledge - among them Panama -, in which they showed their experiences in the areas of fighting desertification and sustainable land management. "I hope this knowledge continues to be shared with the world," she said.
Regarding the 14th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP-14) of the United Nations Convention to Fight Desertification, which took place in India, the FAO Land and Water Officer said it was quite successful
"We know that land degradation is an aggravating issue due to the effects of climate change," Boerger added.
The weather is increasingly causing greater damage, as happened recently in the Bahamas, added the Uruguayan expert with extensive experience in Latin American and Caribbean countries such as Panama and Chile.
"If we do not prevent land degradation, these effects will be stronger and our populations will be more vulnerable," Boerger cautioned. (PL)
