Cuba and Myanmar to Start exchange on Health Field

José Angel Portal, head of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), received Kyaw Tint Swe, Union Minister for the Office of the State Counsellor and special envoy of the Government of Myanmar, along with the delegation that accompanies him.

 

Havana, Cuba.- As reported by MINSAP official website, Swe is in Cuba to make the official announcement of the opening of the diplomatic mission of his country in Havana, and in this context he is interested in establishing bilateral cooperation relations in the health sector between the two nations.

Portal commented on the possibility of developing cooperation in the areas of health and academic services, and the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry.
Meanwhile, the special envoy affirmed that his country has "much to learn from the Cuban experience" and described the Cuban health system as one of the best in the world, so he is convinced that cooperation between both nations will be beneficial.

In turn, on the hostile and interference policy that the United States maintains over Cuba, he said: "We know the difficult situation that Cuba is experiencing but we have confidence in the resistance of its people as it has proved having so much courage." (acn)
