New FMC secretary-general

After her outstanding performance since 2016 as secretary-general of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), in this province, and for the commitment and integrity with which she led the organization, in the midst of difficult social, economic, and epidemiological scenarios, Yaneidys Pérez Cruz is released from her position and, to the pride of Las Tunas, she is promoted to the National Secretariat.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- In an extraordinary plenary session with professional and grassroots leaders of the eight municipalities, held by videoconference, the trajectory of Yaneidys and the results of its management were recognized; which highlighted the actions of the federated women of the territory that were worth recognition in the country level.

During the day, it was agreed to promote Yamilet Ortega Figuerola in her place, with five years of work experience in the Provincial Secretariat and values that accredit her as a relay of excellence to continue guiding the more than 200 thousand women who, from different scenarios, contribute to the feminine organization and march to the forefront of society.

The plenary session also highlighted the trajectory of the new secretary and her journey through different responsibilities, in which she demonstrated discipline and commitment when representing the female universe, especially in the current context of the pandemic, in which communities acquire a primary role in confronting the COVID-19.

Ortega Figuerola recognized the great responsibility of being at the forefront of Las Tunas women and thanked the opportunity. She also reiterated her commitment to carry out the work of the organization and defend each space where women leave their mark daily.

The attendees agreed to promote Flor Masbé Labrada Reyes to occupy the position of the provincial organizer. She has several years of experience in the organization and has gone through different responsibilities, including that of the secretary-general of the FMC in the provincial capital.
