Many people, intellectuals, friends, colleagues, and Las Tunas’ inhabitants..., were missing the first photography exhibition under the signature of Reynaldo López Peña; a sample turned into a demand. The Cucalambeana Fiesta, which takes place in Las Tunas these days, compelled him.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Thus, from Friday, we can admire on the walls of the gallery of the Casa de la Prensa, in this city, a look at the countryside from the women who inhabit it; from the beauty they themselves bring to it, which the artist knew how to express.

Each of the 15 images in the exhibition is part of the poetry and hard work of everyday life in the rural communities of Las Tunas. Those are the ones that inspire a décima, under the morning or midday light, and the exposure of a shutter.

The snapshots are the footprint of press coverage and tours of the Agricultural Intercooperation Support Project (APOCOOP), which the media in the province accompanies and helps to make visible, with the efforts of individuals, because it is not always included in the more formal agenda.

Esencias de Mujeres Rurales (Essences of Rural Women) gathers a representation of all the municipalities and tasks of the countryside, in their details and faces; from offices, homes, the collection of milk, the plant beds…; agriculture, and livestock as a whole.

Rurality from the protagonists of development and the promotion of local change; while they laugh and break stereotypes, make up that multiplicity of knowledge that inspired the artist.

The singer and composer María Victoria Rodríguez, Golden Voice of the Country Music, closed the opening day with the interpretation of anthological songs from her repertoire.
