For the seventh time, the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) in Majibacoa won the National Vanguard Condition this year. “Now is back and to stay,” Yurisay Cutiño Hidalgo, coordinator of the massive organization in this municipality, told 26.

How has Majibacoa achieved this recognition repeatedly?

“It is the recognition of a municipality that has had its full directorate for several years, the staff is stable in a general sense. Besides, we have a good strategy to serve the grassroots leaders, the CDR members, and we have done so by taking time away from the office to bond more with our people in the neighborhoods."

“We also exhibit results in the main numerical tasks that measure the fulfillment of the social mission assigned to us by the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, when founding the (CDR) on September 28, 1960.”

In such difficult times, how do you achieve support from the CDR members in the main processes of the organization?

“It is complicated, because each person has a different way of seeing life, not everyone has the same ideology. Some are CDR supporters to the core, we can say it. But others participate half-heartedly.

“As we work a lot at the grassroots, we already have zone coordinators who work as professional cadres; we have prepared them to be leaders because they are, ultimately, the ones who mobilize by being examples. Although we have difficulties, they achieve mobilization and we try to make the CDR work as well as possible.”

On this new anniversary of the CDR, there is not the traditional caldosa in all the CDR of Majibacoa, but at least one per constituency or Popular Council has been guaranteed. Unity is one of the celebration's main ingredients, adding to the residents' joy for having recovered the Status of National Vanguard.
