Las Tunas, Cuba.- The National Union of Culture Workers granted them the National Distinguished condition, which is supported by the commercialization of creators of various manifestations, with acceptance in the local and foreign markets, which are part of their catalog.
The workers Iris Cruz Núñez, Yamel Meneses Reyes, Xiomara Betancourt and Zenia Ortega also received the Raúl Gómez García Distinction for more than 20 years of service in the sector, to whose growth they have contributed from different tasks.
In addition, personalities from the visual arts linked to the fund were recognized during these years, such as Jesús Vega Faura, Alexis Roselló and Eliades Ávalo, among others.
The Fund of Cultural Assets was inaugurated in this city in 1989, together with several social and cultural institutions, on the occasion of an anniversary of the birth of Fidel Castro, from which it grew up and won the preference at fairs and events where it inserted its first productions.
Nowadays, they have a diverse catalog, characterized by the exclusivity of the pieces, both utilitarian and decorative, that goes from the visual to the applied arts, taking into account the contracts for the floor removals and the elaboration of furniture for tourist sites.
The institution already has two spaces for the exhibition sale in the main municipality, a shop and the Fayad Jamís Gallery where several agencies and state entities acquire pieces for offices and other premises. Besides, the public go there in search of ornamental objects of handmade production.
