Odalys Leyva Rosabal, a writer from Las Tunas, received a recognition from the Center of Culture of the Unesco, for her book entitled Parnassus of the Cuban gloss, which compiles the works of 150 Cuban gloss writers of different years and ages, and constitutes an approach to décima, the national stanza of Cuba.

"The Puerto Rican Association of Unesco, on behalf of Antonio J. Molina, its president, granted me the recognition, also signed by doctors and scientists of the letters that belong to that institution. It is a world federation of centers and clubs of Unesco that emerged in Paris in 1973.
The president of the international group Décima al Filo argued that "to grant the recognition, they took into consideration that the book has an in-depth study from semiotics, since the selected décimas have perfect rhymes, which almost touch preciousness. It also reflects the hermeneutics. Therefore, the meanings of the texts are analyzed, and manifests the formation of Cuban roots, with a historical feeling, from Francisco Poveda and Armenteros (Havana, 1797-Villa Clara, 1881), the first writer whose work is compiled to Anabeivi Rodríguez Álvarez (Pinar del Río, 2001), the last one that mentioned in the book."
According to Leyva Rosabal, this study had not been done before, for which she had to read a thousand glosses. "It is the result of many years of work. Some of the authors that are mentioned no longer live in the country, but they are still Cuban. The cover image also has a lot to do with the text, since it is a hand covered with vegetation, a kind of island that we are all. It was made by the local landscape painter Angel Luis Velázquez Guerra."
In addition to the recognition by the Center of Culture of the Unesco, Parnassus of the Cuban gloss (published by Endymion Editions of Madrid, Spain) also received applause for the Integrated Library System of Brazil. Other institutions and writers worldwide (Madrid, Canary Islands and Uruguay, for example) have sent Odalys congratulations and thanks for the contribution she made to the Spanish language.
The author informed that in October the book will be presented in Spain and those who win the José Vasconcelos International Prize will receive a copy. Presentations are also organized in Las Tunas, Granma and Camagüey.
Why do you select the gloss? "I realized that there was an epistemological vacuum in that aspect, because there were almost no data in this regard, except for the study of Spanish Metrics, by Tomás Navarro Tomás. I thank the Spanish Front of Affirmation from Mexico and Oriflama magazine from Spain for their help.
