The 36th edition of the Provincial Concert Music Festival takes place in Las Tunas from October 17 to 20. This time it will be dedicated to the artists Alexánder Mayo Jorna and Hindira Mastrapa Leyva, as well as the trombone quartet Melodías, the quintet Primer Espacio, the duo Presto and the birth of Leo Brouwer, a Cuban composer, guitarist and orchestra conductor.

The invitation becomes a space for learning and socialization among the local talents of the so-called cultured music, including the professional Chamber Orchestra, the Euterpe choir, the Provincial Concert Band, the Claroscuro duo, students from El Cucalambé professional school of art and others.
The appointment is also prestigious with the presence of Walter Themel, a famous Italian orchestra conductor, who has shared here on other occasions his extensive experience in the field.
In the curriculum of this teacher some important aspects highlight such as the fact of having performed more than 400 concerts, conducting numerous symphonic and chamber ensembles within and outside his country. He also conducted the National Symphony Orchestra (Havana, Cuba, 2007). He founded and conducted choirs, in addition to being regional artistic director and vice president of the Union of Italian Choral Societies.
The event foresees moments of delight for the public who love these melodies with presentations in different spaces. On Wednesday night, for example, the Provincial Concert Band will bring a varied repertoire (waltzes, marches, overtures, Cuban music...) to the front of the Major General Vicente García Provincial Museum, while on Friday -also at night-time- the professional choir Euterpe, with 26 years of experiences, will bring its peculiar sonorities to the Vicente García Memorial.
The musicality, the opportune gesture, the variety of styles and the balance of the sounds, together with the beauty of the works, will take possession of diverse spaces of Las Tunas city. This event arrives in a proper moment, of the hand of instrumentalists and distinguished groups, to celebrate October 20 (the Cuban Culture Day) with a lot of happiness and commitment.
