Las Tunas, Cuba.- The artists share with the audience of the Aztec nations the plays Goodbye Happiness, The Island of Dreams (for children) and What a Couple! (version of Open Couple), which are part of the active repertoire of the group.
While they represent their Company in that land, the other members of the only professional drama theater in the province, perform at the Provincial Center for Visual Arts (CPAP by its Spanish acronym) Wednesdays, Thursdays and weekends, sometimes for adults and sometimes for the little ones at home.
"As it is a small space, we cannot feature large-scale pieces, but what we do we do it with our heart for the sake of our public," said Adelaida Villavicencio Arévalo, director of this guild of the stage.
The participation of the some members in that international event and the performance of the others in Las Tunas, confirm that both their work and the results have not stopped despite the difficult infrastructural situation of the Blanca Becerra Hall, headquarters of the group, which has led them to look for alternatives to work, an opportunity that has been made possible since May 26 of this year thanks to the support of Othoniel Morffis, CPAP director.
Teatro Tuyo, on the other hand, presented Gris (Gray) at the International Theater Festival for Children and Youth of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The company led by Ernesto Parra holds several awards after 20 years in the scene, among which are the Villanueva of the critics; Adolfo Llauradó, of acting; and the Caricato. This troupe also contributed to the creation here of the National Clown School, which began its first academic year last September.
