45th anniversary of the Barbados Crime

The results of the 1st Youth Colloquium “Al sol de la Gloria” (In the Sun of Glory), which was sponsored by the José Martí Youth Movement, the José Martí Cultural Society, and the Young Communist League (UJC), were released in Las Tunas.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The event had participants, besides the locals, from Matanzas, Santiago de Cuba, Granma, Artemisa, Cienfuegos, Sancti Spíritus, Villa Clara, Pinar del Río, Ciego de Ávila and Guantánamo. It was constituted as a reminder of the currency of the terrorist war against Cuba and the horrendous crime of Barbados.

Various topics were assessed in the 42 papers presented, associated with media terrorism against Cuba; analysis of students of Medical Sciences, in their majority, who presented and debated their researches virtually.

The jury distinguished the essays “The resistance of a country against State terrorism” (Alexander Javier Ballagas); "The terrorism of the North, an eternal enemy of the Cuban Revolution" (Isora Emelina Jiménez Méndez); “73 victims, a wounded people, and a Commander who shines” (Karla Anaya Díaz Martos); and "Victims of Terrorism" (Mariam García Ortega).

They also recognized "Half a century of U.S. hostility against Cuba" (Cynthia Reyes Flores); “Barbados, maximum expression of North American terrorism against Cuba” (Jennyfer Amador Melián); "The other side of the coin" (Denise Hernández Delgado); and "Currency of the Crime of Barbados" (Dalianys Caballero Hernández).
