She announced that others resources such as the footwear for students from pedagogical schools, dining and kitchen sets and specialized modules for Professional Technical Education have not been possible to import them this year.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Ena Elsa Velázquez Cobiella said today in this city when evaluating the preparations for the 2019-2020 school year that "we need to take care of what we have, as well as recover and extend the useful life of the resources that we have in schools. This is our fundamental contribution in the current economic conditions of the country."

The minister informed that there are essential materials for the implementation of the school period such as pencils, books and notebooks, the modules of the teachers and well-being conditions. She announced that others resources such as the footwear for students from pedagogical schools, dining and kitchen sets and specialized modules for Professional Technical Education have not been possible to import them this year.

When she referred to the salary increase, the Doctor of Science said that the main impact has to be oriented to the quality of the educative-teaching process, school discipline and the professional improvement of teachers. She said that the new salary represents a great commitment to do everything better.

She also noted that the return to the classrooms of more than 800 teachers, who have requested their incorporation in the province, must be assessed individually according to the needs of each locality, the causes of their leaving from the sector and the behavior maintained inside and outside of the schools. She explained that the return of these teachers will be very positive and the valuable contribution of the hired professionals is recognized. The ideal is to have a teaching staff in the schools that guarantees not only teaching, but also integral work.

Velázquez Cobiella suggested Las Tunas province to rescue the top place it had in previous years in the entrance exams to Higher Education, because in the current calendar the province obtained the fifth place at the country level and called to review the causes of this setback. Likewise, she recognized the integral results of the territory and the good state that educational facilities generally have.

This course, 636 educational centers will open in the Balcony of Eastern Cuba, with an enrollment that exceeds 83,400 students. The teachers' coverage is here above 98 percent and according to the epidemiological situation in the region, it is expected that the centers with more than 500 students will have a doctor and a nurse.
