This center has obtained good results for several years, so it is not new that for the closing of the first half of this calendar, indicators are widely above what was agreed.
In dialogue with 26 Digital, Rolando Fernandez Rodriguez, head of Crop Houses, reported that the sowing are at 106 percent compliance and production rates reach 111 percent. He said proudly that "Of the 155 tons we have to contribute, we have already obtained 200."
"The sales plan, which is our main reference, goes at a good pace according to our satisfaction and that of the country. Of the 378,000 expected pesos, today we exceed 400,000," said Roli, as his colleagues affectionately call him.
These successes led to the entity, belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture in the Blue Village, be the host of the celebrations for the Agricultural Worker Day.
The one hundred percent of its 38 houses is in operation and 20 of them are in production currently. There, they sow the beloved pepper, cucumber, lettuce, beet and cabbage in the last period. Besides, the harvest of tomato, king of the orchard, will begin by the end of October.
"According to the delivery to the tourism sector, we are winning the commitment significantly and the assortments do not stay only in Las Tunas, but also go to the productive poles of Guardalavaca in Holguin, Santa Lucia in Camagüey and Manzanillo, Granma," said Fernandez Rodriguez.
Regarding the treatment of these species so that their quality is optimal, he said that they use "many biological means, not only because of the deficit of fertilizers, but for their benefit, because they reduce the use of chemicals and are less expensive.
He also said that they get their own seeds. "If we have imported seeds, we use them because they report higher yields, but if they don't arrive, we continue with our own.
"There is no greater satisfaction for our workers than the fact of fulfilling the orders that the country demands from us, and with the required efficiency. Although the alternatives that we put into practice benefit the product, what most influences the achievements is the state of mind of the workers, who every day give their best to do things well," added the farmer.
"Today we are preparing the conditions to produce the hot pepper, which is highly valued internationally, and we are getting involved in the leading varieties because these weather conditions are optimal for the development of vegetables, which will guarantee an end of the year with excellent yields.
He concluded saying that "our aspirations continue to be related to maintaining favorable economic indexes and broadening horizons in exports by sowing chili so that it becomes another important product for exportation of the territory. That's the objective of our work, that everyone knows what to do to strengthen the country's economy."
