During the last days, the inhabitants of Las Tunas made an issue over the appearance of an enormous whale shark in the area of La Herradura beach, on the coast of the municipality of "Jesús Menéndez." As it seems, the fish died after being caught between the nets of a fishing establishment. There was no human intention in his death.
