Las Tunas receives 637 new doctors, stomatologists, nurses, and health technologists.

Infinite pride behind the very whitish coats, broken words, hugs, congratulations from parents, in some cases from a distance; joy that can hardly fit into a simple seat at the Tunas Theater... It was the 40th graduation of the Dr. Zoilo Marinello University of Medical Sciences, and in the air, new vigor intermingled with the sensitivity of yesteryear.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The day welcomed 362 new Health professionals who have combined persistence with the vocation to save lives in any scenario, of which 358 graduated in Medicine and four in the specialty of Stomatology.

Leydis Torres Velázquez, the comprehensive graduate, confesses before the microphones of 26 her satisfaction for deserving the white coat that protects her today, the commitment to collaborate with the medical institution that will welcome her for a new professional challenge, and above all, her gratitude to the faculty that formed her not only as a doctor but as a better human being.

Of the graduates, 113 boast the joy of having Gold Degrees.

The most emotional moment of the dialogue was dedicated to her mother, “without whom the last six years would not have been possible, nor the early mornings at the mercy of studying, nor the dedication to master theoretical and practical knowledge, and acquire life lessons.”

At this graduation, anchored in the 41st anniversary of the creation of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Zoilo Marinello, and the beginning of this particular teaching on Las Tunas soil, the value of the faculty who knew how to guide the students along paths directed towards the achievement of quality benefits in any workspace in which they work.

Three new doctors won the Scientific Merit Award Condition awarded by Dr. María Elena Mawad Santos, Rector of the University of Medical Sciences for their effort, active participation in scientific events, desire to improve, completion of award exams, and the impact of their research on the quality of the teaching process.

Seven new names are added to the Mario Muñoz Monroy Vanguard Movement. They carry on their young shoulders the role of getting involved in the teaching processes and being examples of commitment in their study rooms.

The day was full of altruism and sensitivity from the faces that will debut very soon on various fronts of action, but whose common goal is to return in daily praxis the great dose of humanism, simplicity, empathy, and dedication that characterized their arduous process of training. It also transcends gratitude and the impetus to climb new professional horizons.

Previously, the graduation of 64 Nursing students was held in Las Tunas, which will strengthen comprehensive care for those who need it most in the province's Public Health System. Between the tribute and the rejoicing, young senior short cycle technicians, and Bachelors in Nursing received their titles and ratified their commitment to contribute to raising the quality of life of the inhabitants of this territory before representatives of the Cuban Nursing Society (Socuenf). José Miguel Rodríguez and Leyanis Peña Rojas were the integral graduates.

Days before, the graduation of 116 Health Technology students in all modalities also took place. Of them, Miguel Reyes Ávila was the comprehensive and was awarded the 19 Gold Titles that will increase the provision of services from Primary and Secondary Care.

In the different healthcare scenarios where their efforts are required, the trained graduates of all specialties will prestige the Cuban health system. They are the fruit of an efficient educational model, based on high human and scientific quality.
