The province's network of psychologists, in order to help people with the appearance of negative emotions or states of mood, produced by the threat of Covid-19, created a helpline, an email and a Facebook page, to those in need.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- As Frank Yudier Gómez Cera, president in the territory of the Cuban Society of Psychology reported to 26 Digital, the helpline is now available by phone 31343676, which provides its services from Monday to Friday, in the hours from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

"Also, our professionals give their psychological support in Primary and Secondary Health Care, as part of the investigations, in the command post of the Provincial Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology; in addition to nursing homes, isolation centers, from their homes by telephone, through the various social networks and by the television, radio and print media in the territory.

“We know that today more than ever our science plays an important role in improving the mental health of the inhabitants. The psychological and emotional disturbances in these days of confinement are abundant and nobody is exempt from suffering these clinical manifestations, that is why we have developed such strategies, with the aim of preventing psychological disturbances and for those affected to receive immediate attention,” he affirmed.

The president of the society in Las Tunas explained that this fact is the result of the joint work of the Provincial Group of Psychology in Las Tunas, the Cuban Society of Psychology, the Provincial Directorate of Health and its municipal counterpart. The Psychosocial Helpline in times of pandemic is already a reality here.
