More than 1,500 middle-level technicians and around 270 skilled workers will join workplaces in Las Tunas

Nearly 1,800 students from Technical and Professional Education in the province of Las Tunas, who will graduate during the current school calendar, will revitalize production and services starting next September, after enjoying their vacations.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- More than 1,500 of these graduates are middle-level technicians and around 270 are skilled workers, all of them graduates of polytechnic institutes and trade schools in this eastern Cuban territory.

María del Carmen Polanco Hernández, methodologist of School Organization at the Provincial Directorate of Education, told Radio Victoria that an agreement with several entities allows that 560 annex classrooms to function in Las Tunas, contributing to the integral formation of the students.

She also means that some 184 production units are certified, while in the schools 83 classrooms have approved the category of Specialized, which enables labor practice and a balance between teaching and production.

In addition to training young people in different aspects of the economy and services, the polytechnic institutes have the potential to generate goods and services, hence the importance of learning, through direct contact with workers, and experiences in the different production processes.
