The monitoring of those issues is for the Caribbean nation a main priority facing the process started as a result of the political will and serious commitment of the government in the process of the implementation of the new 2030 Educational Agenda, members of the delegation commented.
The Cuban delegation is headed by Mercedes Escudero, education director in the Cuban province of Camagüey. Representatives of the National Commission at Unesco, and the Permanent Delegation of the island at that institution, are also on the list.
Unesco Education vice president, Qian Tang, stressed when speaking at the meeting the importance of implementing the Action Framework of the 2030 Educational Agenda and the commitment of the international community, including the State members, to achieve the goals proposed in this regard.
The symposium, ending tomorrow, is the first follow-up meeting held after approving in November the Action Framework for the 38th General Conference of Unesco.
State members of the organization, representatives of the international community dealing with that area, the civil society and other actors, are participating in this symposium. (PL)
