Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, stated on Friday that the special education in the Caribbean island is another example of the humanistic work and values of the Revolution.

 

Havana, Cuba.- "Special schools and special education are an expression of the humanist vocation and social justice of the Cuban Revolution. Our recognition and admiration for the selfless teams of workers and educators," wrote the Cuban president in his Twitter account.

According to Ena Elsa Velázquez, Minister of Education, Cuba has a network of special schools catering for the needs of all children, adolescents and young people who need it.

Cuban teachers have highlighted that educational practices and theoretical reflections must be constantly reviewed in order to continually improve the country's education system. In this regard they emphasized working around the individual needs of the student, and ensuring education is inclusive, fair, supportive and accessible. (RHC)
