During a fruitful exchange with students and professors of the Conrado Benítez Polytechnic Institute of Economics and Services (IPES), the Vice President of the Council of Ministers Ulises Rosales del Toro, stressed the importance of professional practices for job training of the future skilled workers.

Las Tunas Cuba .- "Today in Cuba there are many problems with food - he said - and the economy and trade are fundamental pillars for development, so it is important that there are technicians prepared and interested in how to make things better and get the most out of it, because our people deserves it."

The Vice President was interested in the continuity of studies, because according to several professors, they are holding back in their improvement and look for other options because they do not find in the University careers related to their profile.

Rosales del Toro stated that "it is essential that trade entities go to schools and vice versa, and the practical hours must prevail so that professional skills are created in the students. They had to dig deeper into the curricular content, the information technologies and the internet."

The Ministers of Domestic Trade and the Food Industry, Betsy Díaz Velázquez and Iris Quiñones Rojas, joined to this debate, who detailed that the school should work in conjunction with the factories. All this results into a better service because commerce and gastronomy are directly linked to the people.

After the meeting, the leaders visited the ten classrooms and the specialized workshop of the institution, which have the minimum necessary for a better understanding of knowledge. There it was said, in addition, that the business group of Commerce annually allocates a total sum of more than 700 CUC for the purchase of supplies and materials to these premises.
