Las Tunas, Cuba.- Piñeda Cruz said that this figure does not behave in the same way in all municipalities and teaching levels, so completing the cloisters remains in the work priorities for the next school year. Among the processes that will receive more attention are the extension of the Third Perfection and political ideological work.
Other matters of equal importance will be the training and improvement of teachers, the enrollment and retention in pedagogical schools, the attention to teachers in training, as well as the accompaniment, help and control of young professionals, issues that directly influence in the coverage.
Something positive about the current school year was that about 200 twelfth grade graduates were given directly the eight pedagogical specialties of greatest deficit in the territory, through the University College. The good results of this experience in its second edition were recognized by the country's top management, and Las Tunas was invited to share its experiences with the other regions.
The director noted that "the president of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel, made recently an assessment related to the preparations for the next school year in which he was specifically concerned by the existing professional force in the sector. He pointed out that in the country the national average of the teaching coverage oscillates between the 90 and the 91 percent and made a call to reach in the next years a 93 percent through the impulse of alternatives like pedagogical schools, the programs of short cycle and the University College."
