Graduates from Pedagogical School Will be Incorporated to Classrooms in September

With the addition of 231 students of the Rita Longa Aróstegui Pedagogical School who received their title of teachers of upper secondary level earlier this week, that center graduates 1,474 teachers in the specialties of Early Childhood, Primary Education, Special Education and English for Primary in six years.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- During the ceremony, held at Las Tunas Theater in this capital city, Gerardo Cruz Leyva, director of the center, pointed out how since the reopening in the country of the pedagogical schools of this level in 2010, these ones became essential for the successful training of professionals that the Educational System needs. He also acknowledged that graduates of this course went through four years, to become educators with a good quality, demonstrated in the completion of studies.

Professor Guadalupe Charchabal Borrero was awardedDaniela de la Caridad Ramírez Sequeira, the most integral graduate, received the Distinction Lucero de la Pedagogía (Bright star of Pedagogy), the highest award given by the Education Directorate to those graduates who are trained as professionals in the sector. She was also acknowledged with the Pedagogo del Futuro Special Award, granted by the provincial branch of the Association of Pedagogues of Cuba.

The young girl, with a brilliant career, was the winner of competitions and monitor events, president of the Federation of Middle School Students (FEEM) in the school and reached the highest category in her completion of studies. The best students in teaching, research and culture were also recognized and the municipalities of Amancio, Jobabo and Las Tunas were congratulated for the attention given to the fourth-year students, during their concentrated work practice.

At the graduation, the Escultor del Futuro Award, was given to Professor Guadalupe Charchabal Borrero, for holding an extensive curriculum as educator and for her absolute dedication to the development of pedagogy. They also presented the Distinction for the Cuban Education to the teacher Ángela Alba Rodríguez and the Rafael María de Mendive Distinction to professionals with more than 20 and 25 years of uninterrupted work in the sector.

The graduates will support teaching in the month of September in the centers where they were located. In the same way, they will begin the superior studies in the University of Las Tunas for the continuity of its formation.
