Las Tunas, Cuba.- Adrián Valera Pérez, president of the OPJM in the territory, told the press that about 2,700 pioneers have already been incorporated into this effort in the province, grouped into 79 patrols.
The initiative is a whole movement that integrates students between fourth and ninth grades to extend to the communities the importance of energy saving. They visit homes near schools and work centers, detect the main incidents and discuss the need to save energy with neighbors and family members.
This is another way of explaining to the people the measures taken by the direction of the Revolution in the current circumstances and how much can be done, from each home, to minimize its effects.
Although, the fuel shortage must be resolved by the end of this month, the intention is to keep the patrols running. Therefore, in the upcoming days, it is expected to include more than 32,000 pioneers, inserted in more than two thousand brigades of this type.
Adrián Valera explained that the intention of the work is also to reach the rural settlements of the territory. That is why they use video and television rooms to show audiovisuals and exchange with the population of each place about the issue.
