The Middle School Student Federation (FEEM) welcomed more than five thousand first-year students of technical, pedagogical and pre-university specialties, in the ceremony of admission to the organization developed throughout the territory. 

 

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The provincial ceremony took place at the Luis Urquiza Jorge Pre-university Vocational Institute of Exact Sciences (Ipvce). Álex Daniel Pacheco Álvarez, president of the FEEM in the territory, said that the appointment takes place after almost a month of preparation and explanation to the students who join about the main characteristics of the organization.

Middle School Student Federation (FEEM) welcomed more 5,000 new membersHe emphasized that the priorities for the current school year are oriented to the study, the political-ideological work with young people, the defense of the Homeland, the use of social media in order to disseminate the reality of Cuba and the fight against academic fraud.

The FEEM is integrated for more than 14,500 students. They have the task at this new stage of analyzing the Electoral and National Symbols laws in each brigade, with the purpose of obtaining a better knowledge of their citizenship duties and rights. As part of the activities for the advent of the 49th anniversary of its creation, on December 6th, they are projected for greater prominence inside and outside the classrooms from the completion of the election process, which has already begun.

The student leader mentioned that they deploy several initiatives such as the ideological day "We have Reasons for Walking". Similarly, they promote the FEEM for the Neighborhood project, unique in the country, aimed at discussing with the family and the community core issues such as teenage pregnancy, addictions, guardianship support and generational problems in the educating-teaching process.

During the event, Carlos Eduardo González Carballosa, a student from the Ipvce was recognized, who recently won a bronze medal at the Ibero-American Physics Olympiad. The ceremony was attended by Osmel Osorio López, first secretary of the Young Communist League in Las Tunas, as well as the main leaders of the FEEM, the José Martí Youth Movement and Education.
