Las Tunas, Cuba.- The project is included in the program of celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the University's foundation and, with that, the beginnings of Higher Education in the territory, so it plans to bring the institution's work closer to the community, the student Dayron Martínez Rodríguez, main coordinator of the contingent, explained to the Cuban News Agency.
Composed of members of the movement of amateur artists, representatives of the different youth clubs, the movement of correspondents, student leaders and outstanding students in the academic and sports field, the contingent aims to extend the work of the scientific and socio-cultural projects to further enhance their impact within local development, Martínez Rodríguez said.
The also FEU vice president pointed out that although a large number of actions are carried out by a representation of 25 students, the contingent is made up of more than two thousand, who will be participating in various activities with an extension that range from the exchange with the main political and governmental authorities of the province, and mass organizations, until the planting of trees and cleaning of the surroundings of educational centers.
In addition, the trips to the municipal university centers of Puerto Padre and Manatí, will allow socializing experiences and being able to appreciate from the practice how the projects that arise in the university classrooms are implemented, he added.
The Aniversario 25 contingent, created to promote from the protagonists themselves a new anniversary of Higher Education in Las Tunas, is inserted within the promotional communication campaign "Huellas en cada generación" (Footsteps in each generation), designed for the occasion and which pays tribute to the preparations of the Las Tunas' high studies house to undergo the accreditation process at the end of November.
From now until May 2020, when the anniversary is commemorated; the University of Las Tunas celebrates its multiple results, which are validated with the training of more than 11 thousand professionals in the Social, Humanistic, Technical and Pedagogical Sciences, and the growing scientific activity that accompanies a cloister composed by 134 doctors in Science and 560 masters.
