Las Tunas, Cuba.- The official establishment of these spaces will facilitate the practical exercise to some 600 students of the polytechnic institutes, who study specialties in Hotel Accommodation, Food Processing, Commerce, Accounting, Logistics and Transportation. In this way, Las Tunas and Brisas Covarrubias hotels, the branch units of the Palmares extra-hotel and the Caracol stores network, together with Transtur, Emprestur and Popular Camping companies were declared teaching production units.
Nílser Piñeda Cruz, provincial director of Education stressed that this step is aimed at the training of a sufficient workforce based on tourism development plans in this part of the country. "These certificates that we deliver, he added, are in recognition of these collectives, because students are considered to have all the conditions to continue their integral training."
Giarlis Melenilla Romero, delegate of the Tourism Ministry, said the "this process will allow improving the quality in the training of future workers because we do not renounce to our development plans in the territory; and these actions contribute to achieving them."
Although at the moment there are 34, representatives of both sectors in the province did not rule out that the number of attached classrooms will increase as the related specialties in the polytechnics expand, and the tourist facilities gain experience in terms of teaching.
