Legislators from Cuba and the United States held a meeting in which they ratified the will to strengthen dialogue and cooperation, based on mutual respect.

Havana, Cuba.- The National Capitol was the venue of the meeting in which the presidents of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Commission, José Luis Toledo, and the Health and Sports Commission, Estela Luna, as well as the president of the People’s Supreme Court, Rubén Remigio, among other members of the Council of State, participated on the Cuban side.

According to a message released on Twitter by the Cuban parliament, the US delegation was led by representatives Jim McGovern, Mark Pocan, and Troy A. Carter, among other visitors.

Last November, another group of legislators from the United States visited Cuba, with food production as the central topic.

Congressmen Salud Carbajal, James Baird, and Jahana Hayes were received by members of the Agrifood Commission of the Cuban Parliament and Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdés. (PL)
