Las Tunas, Cuba.- The main health facility in Las Tunas was founded by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz on June 14, 1980, with 42 medical services.

A score of services and departments with praiseworthy advances in their work were recognized, including special care units such as Surgical, Cardiology, Intensive Care Unit, Organ Transplant, Neonatology and the commissions for the attention to mothers and newborns in critical condition.

A group of outstanding workers received the membership card of the Cuban Communist Party and the Young Communists League.
