According to the organizing committee, this is the first event of the Federation of Allergy Societies in Central America and the Caribbean running in the Caribbean nation; an event in which participants could exchange experiences and join forces in favor of the development of the specialty in the region.
Parallel to the main meeting will be a new edition of the major event of the specialty at national level: the 5th Ibero-American Meeting and 9th National Congress of Allergology, Cuba Alergia 2017.
Allergists will share the working sessions with professionals from other specialties, with the objective of improving the diagnosis, treatment and control of allergic diseases, whose high prevalence and costs make them an important health problem in Cuba and the world.
The 14th Central American and Caribbean Congress of Allergy is sponsored by the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, the National Council of Scientific Health Societies, the Cuban Society of Immunology and the National Center of Bio-Preparations. (PL)
