The people of Cuba have lived, for more than half a century, under the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, and are marked by this punishment for their "deadly sin." From the oldest to the youngest, the entire population has suffered its consequences.

The United Nations General Assembly passed with 189 votes in favor and only 2 against - the United States and Israel - a Cuban-sponsored resolution on the necessity of ending the blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.

Students and professors from the University of this province of eastern Cuba joined from physical and digital spaces to the "beehive" against the blockade on Cuba convened by the Federation of University Student (FEU).

The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, expressed his gratitude on Wednesday in France for the support shown to the Caribbean country by the international community during the UN session dedicated to the blockade of the United States against the island.

Representatives of UN member nations and regional organizations reaffirmed on Wednesday they support to the draft Cuban resolution against the U.S. financial, economic and commercial blockade. Speaking on Item 43: "Necessity to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba," they denounced the damage that the hostile policy implemented since 1959 has caused on the Cuban people, and called on the U.S. administration to put end to the coercive measure.

The UN General Assembly discusses today for the 27th consecutive year the resolution project to put an end to U.S. blockade against Cuba, this time under U.S. pressures to hinder the process.

The damages of the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade to the Cuban system of public health amount to millionaire figures. The lack of reagents, some equipment and sanitary materials interfere in the diagnostic studies throughout the country.

Students from all over Cuba will take part in a Tweet Storm against Washington's blockade of the island on Wednesday.

More than four million dollars will be lost as a result of the U.S. blockade on Guantánamo University (UG), announced on Tuesday the Rector of that institution, Alberto Turro.

Cuba's permanent representative to the UN, Anayansi Rodríguez, highlighted the efforts of the island´s people to build a prosperous nation, despite the obstacles imposed by the US blockade.
