Las Tunas.- The Fire and Rangers Department, as well as auxiliary forces and forestry workers conducted a strategic exercise that is part of an annual training plan with the aim of contributing to the prevention of forest fires, and increase the risk perception in the population and socio-economic facilities of the territory.

The training was developed in the area of Sao Largo, located in the capital municipality, belonging to the Las Tunas Agricultural and Forestry Company, an area of high incidence of fires. The last of those occurred the current year, in which damage was minimized thanks to an efficient system of detection and warning.

This initiative, in which the operating forces involved demonstrated their skill, speed and agility, is also part of the 320+50+30 Campaign, whose name makes reference to the anniversaries of the founding of the Fire Department of the Republic of Cuba, its designation as a fundamental rector of preventive activity and the formalization of the Volunteer Firefighters Association, respectively.

Fire prevention is one of the key aspects of national security and therefore, it is necessary to promote the formation of habits that influence the reduction of fires, not only in the critical season, between the months of January and May, but throughout the entire year.
