Las Tunas, Cuba.- "More than 20,000 homes that receive the service through rustically constructed lines illegally connected to the National Power Grid have been identified across the geography of Las Tunas," said René Rocío Pupo, technical director of the entity.
According to the manager, the work was completed in the communities of Jagüey, in the municipality of Manatí; Charco Piedra, in "Amancio", and San Félix, in Puerto Padre, while brigades of all municipalities currently integrate a contingent to give a boost to the actions.
During the year they will eliminate that through illegal distribution networks, which from the technical point of view can cause low voltage, electrical losses, as well as high possibilities of accidents.
Rocío Pupo pointed to the municipalities of Jesús Menéndez, Jobabo and the peripheral and rural areas of Las Tunas as those with the highest concentration of communities with this problem.
He clarified that although it is a priority of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the eradication of the illegal distribution networks is a gradual process, since it is carried out the integral rehabilitation of each zone, which requires the allocation of resources such as poles, lines, transformers and electrical measurement equipment.
The Provincial Power Company of Las Tunas develops during the current calendar an intense and diversified investment program, mainly aimed at improving and expanding services, for which they have been assigned more than 100 million pesos.
