"Jesús Menéndez", Las Tunas.- The leader learned details about the meeting with the suppliers for the quality assurance of the components of the machines, as well as the gradual entry of the essential resources for the execution of the project. Some of the assets are already working in the area, such as dump trucks, backhoes, eight cranes from 20 to 160 tons, among other equipment.
Adela Álvarez Fernández, who is in charge of the Integrated Project Management, explained that during the last few days there have been delays, mainly due to the existence of underground springs in the excavation areas, which impede the continuous work. "However, we have adopted some strategies, with the advice of Chinese specialists, which will allow us to recover the lost time and meet the schedule for the stage."
Valdés Menéndez was also interested in compliance with environmental regulations, to avoid damage to the biodiversity of the area, a vital element. In this sense, those present explained that detailed studies have been carried out to know even bird migration cycles, and take them into account in the programming of wind turbines maintenance, once installed, and in the execution of the works.
Ariel Santana Santiesteban, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Communist Party in the province;and Lilian González Rodríguez, president of the Provincial Assembly of People's Power, accompanied the Hero of the Republic of Cuba during his visit, in which he insisted, that "Non-compliance cannot be justified, and the adoption of strategies at the right time is synonymous with efficiency."
