Las Tunas, Cuba.- The celebrations officially began this October 26th, with the opening of a photographic exhibition about Fidel's stay at the plant three decades ago, and will include other activities such as internal contests, tours of places of historic interest, voluntary blood donations, the cancellation of a postal stamp and an act on November 28th.
The Union of Workers of Industries has also scheduled several dates of voluntary work with a view to beautifying the areas of the factory.
The ship that Fidel visited on November 28, 1988, is undergoing a total remodeling to install a modern rolling line there, capable of producing 120,000 tons of high quality corrugated bars and 50,000 of wire rod.
