Regarding the latter, he said: "They stand out for their clean writing, a mastery of metrics and rhyme, the additional grace that characterizes the gloss and literary values open to universal culture, which gives the Cuban décima the possibility of being present in the great tree of world poetry." Rodríguez Cabrera also meant that the election was unanimous.

Linnet Molina received as a prize a painting by the plastic artist Misleydis Quesada Otero, a graduate of the former Provincial Academy of Plastic Arts of Las Tunas. "I am very happy, as soon as the words come out. I could not be more grateful, especially of the teacher Besú Guevara who inspired the winning gloss", confessed the awarded writer in the presence of colleagues of letters from various provinces, directors of culture, and representatives of Casa de las Américas publishing house.
