Las Tunas, Cuba.- "These equipments came to replace those of induction. From the technological point of view, they represented a step forward in the quality of the service, but for us it was a challenge", says Eddy Castillo Ramírez, with an experience of 44 years in verification tasks.
Jorge Sosa Reyes, a veteran of more than five decades in the sector and retired almost six years ago, but unable to get away from the job, explains:
"We had to face the technical revision of the new equipment with the same table that we used to examine the induction ones, which it was not compatible; so we began to think about the need to introduce transformations to adapt it to the new demands."
THE CHANGES
They say that they eliminated the pattern and the key to interrupt it; they modified it and made the whole connection new; in addition, they increased the analysis capacity from five to 10 electricity meters.
"Now, we can check simultaneously twice those measurement instruments that come with problems from all branches of the province and that contribute to avoid its accumulation in areas of the workshop, where are repaired and given back their usefulness."
So it is so that after implemented the innovations they have recovered more than 20 thousand electricity meters with a substantial saving to the national economy, and have also stopped multiple frauds of unscrupulous people bent on altering in their favor the mechanisms of these measurement tools.
Lizandra Chacón Campo, tester A of electricity meters; and Luis Ariel Jiménez Ramos, technician in Networks and System are also protagonists of this solution, along with Eddy and Jorge.
