With the Martí's conviction that "The hour of action is not the time to learn, we must have learned before" a political event and military ceremony took place in the province of Las Tunas, on the occasion of the beginning of the year of preparation for the Defense.

 

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Colonel Luis Felipe Paneque Pérez, director of the School of Military Preparation for Defense, informed the work priorities for the current year and stressed that in this period it requires superior organization to handle the increase in the right-wing offensive on the international stage.

The military act was chaired by Ariel Santana Santiesteban and Jaime Ernesto Chiang Vega, the president and vice president of the Provincial Defense Council.

The main words were pronounced by Paneque Pérez who stressed that the best way to avoid the aggressions of the Imperialism and a possible conflagration is the political and combative preparation of the Armed Forces and the doctrine of the War of the Whole People.

The combative preparation for the safeguarding of the Homeland was verified in the demonstration of skills executed by soldiers of special troops and fighters of the Ministry of Interior (Minint), who exposed the techniques of hand-to-hand combat.

The activity was carried out with the participation of officers of the Military Region of Las Tunas and Minint. Besides, thirteen collectives were honored for the optimal performance of the assigned tasks and missions, as well as the results of the controls carried out during the past calendar.

Year of preparation for the defense has begun

Fighters with a laudable outcomes received the distinctions to the Distinguished Service, Highlighted in Preparation for Defense and for Service in the Revolutionary Armed Forces.

Likewise, about a ten young people and three combatants and civilian workers from the FAR deserved the cards that accredits them as militants of the Young Communists League and the Communist Party of Cuba.
