"Regardless of the objective difficulties, we must move forward and overcome the subjective limitations, which also add problems. There is a group of situations that has been gestated more by irresponsibility or disrespect, than by deficiencies, especially with the quality of bread.
The lack of flour does not justify the presence of weevils or worms in the bread of the basic basket. Such fact obeys to the inoperability of the labor collectives and that can not happen ".
José Róbinson Pérez, vice-president of the Council of the Provincial Administration that deals with the agri-food sphere, insisted that despite the restrictions caused by the drought in the production of food, the strategy is aimed at keeping the supply to the main markets of each municipality because the productive poles were created for this purpose and have responded adequately.
Róbinson Pérez pointed out about toilet products that "certain speculations regarding soap and toothpaste were generated among the population. These products tend to stability, we can assure that the raw materials are guaranteed and they will be distributed in the planned amounts."
"Another problem that hit us recently was the lack of animal food, which has a direct impact on the availability of pork at state points of sale, and we have pushed forward a major effort to prioritize the supply to the fairs and the fundamental markets of the municipal seats.
"We have enough pigs, but they do not reach the necessary weight. The territory is getting ready in this regard, around 9,000 tons were sold in the markets during 2018 and we have considered increasing these figures.
"Although the province complies with the poultry plan, it does not generate the necessary quantity of eggs to satisfy the demand, we recently adopted the measure to regulate its distribution to five units per person, until there is greater availability of this food."
We will do everything possible to protect the basic services of the population. We are adopting measures so that the people do not feel with too much rigor the shortcomings that may come, "he concluded.
The President of the Government specified that the production of food is a task to which the State pays the utmost attention, for that reason he exhorted to produce more, with alternatives, intelligence and the use of capacities. He also pointed out as essential in Las Tunas for this calendar, the work related to the production of sugar.
It was stressed that in 2019, the work on the harmonious operation of the non-state sector will be favored as well as the improvement of architectural heritage and the development of housing construction poles with popular effort and the support of agencies.
Chiang Vega also commented, among other perspectives, the increase of exportable items, the substitution of imports, the productive linkage of the entities with tourism and the realization of projects with foreign investment.
