Engineer Wilfredo González Vidal, First Deputy Minister of Communications, noted the advances in digital terrestrial television, connectivity in sectors such as health, education, tourism, agriculture ..., in exchange with representatives of various businesses and local agencies during the Government visit to Las Tunas.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- It was learned during the meeting that there are more than 188, 600 active lines in the mobile telephone network. Some 21 radio bases support 3G technology, necessary in function of dynamic services of the Telecommunications Company of Cuba (Etecsa), in this eastern territory.

The deputy minister pointed out that the digitization of Public Registry services is a priority in the computerization of society for which the country is so committed.

"We need to interlock all mechanisms, especially local projects, based on the computerization of society, to be able to move forward; in this sense, the University, the academy, has much to contribute to our efforts," he said.

Related to the Transport sector, he distinguished the work of the Provincial Directorate of the Young Club of Computing and Electronics, which as part of the strategic alliances promotes La Guagua app, aimed at the operation of public transportation.

The Deputy Minister of Communications stressed that the infrastructure of communications in each of the Cuban territories must be dimensioned.

"The economic and social development must be reflected in accordance with the projects that, from the locality, we are able to enhance," he added.
