Las Tunas, Cuba.- MSc. Aurora del Carmen Ramos de las Heras, Rector of the University of Las Tunas, said that "2018 was characterized by the implementation of the policy of improving the teaching of the English language and the implementation of the policy for the strengthening of science, technology, innovation and doctoral training."
The five motivations for the work in this 2019 were presented in the balance: Constitutional Referendum, the anniversaries 25th and 80th of the house of high studies of the province and the Workers' Central Union of Cuba (CTC), respectively, as well as the implementation of the Guidelines of the Economic and Social Policy of the Party and the Revolution, and the external evaluation process in which the university is immersed.
Among the main deficiencies that led to noncompliance or compliance with some indications of the work objectives, the rector pointed out that the main categories in the composition of the leader that were insufficient, the scientific publications in referenced journals from Group 1, the number of teachers incorporated into the doctoral training, as well as the maximum use of the ICTs potentialities.
Other executives from the Ministry of Higher Education (MES)participated in the analysis such as Ph.D Reynaldo Velázquez Zaldívar, general director of Professional Training, Jorge Rodríguez Pérez, director of the education officers departmenta nd Gerardo Montenegro Morán, director of the education officers training program and management studies.
